Kulgam: In a shocking incident, in a viral video an alleged terrorist can be seen jumping into the river in order to escape from being caught by the armed forces and police.
According to reports, a suspected terrorist identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed allegedly drowned while trying to escape in Kupwara area of Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. The video of the entire incident has gone viral and is being widely shared on social media.
He was allegedly trying to escape from the joint raid that was conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir police and the Indian armed forces in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. The attack that took place on April 22 led to the death of as many as 26 tourists in Baisaran valley of Pahalgam.
Following the attack a number of retaliatory steps were taken by the Indian Government. On among them being door to door surveillance across Jammu and Kashmir including strict blocking and checking and regular raids. During on such raid on Sunday, alleged terrorist is seen trying to escape from being caught and finding no other way jumps into the river. Sources say that he was swept away by the cutrrent and died.
