Woman brings assault allegation against Excise PS in-charge in Mayurbhanj

Jashipur : A woman has lodged a police complaint alleging that she was assaulted at the Excise Police Station in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.

The woman has been identified as Reshma Pingua of the Dheepasahi in Mahardapalasa village.

In the complaint the woman alleged that on 22nd September, Jashipur Excise police station in-charge in Mayurbhanj district, Subhadarshini Sahu forcibly picked her from her house and brought to the police station.

After a health check-up at Jashipur hospital, she was brought to the police station and asked to get a photo clicked with the liquor that was seized earlier. However, she alleged that when she did not agree to this, the in-charge allegedly took her to the bathroom and assaulted her along with another female excise officer and later whe was forwarded to the court.

On 23rd September, after the woman was released on bail, she filed the police complaint against Subhadarshini Sahu at the Jashipur police station.

We are yet to get reaction of the Subhadarshini Sahu regarding this allegation.

As per reports, Jashipur police have initiated investigation based on the woman’s complaint.
