Bandipora: In a major success to Indian Army, the top LeT (Lashkar-e-Taiba) commander identified as Altaf Lalli has allegedly been killed in Bandipora area of Jammu and Kashmir said reports on Friday.
According to reports, acting on specific intelligence about terrorist presence, post the major terror attack in Phulwama a search operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Bandipora.
Further, contact was established with the terrorists and this lead to a major crossfire between the Indian army and the police. Following which the top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Altaf Lalli was killed.
Further is is worth mentioning here that the Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi has reached Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Army chief upon arrival was briefed by the 15 Corps Commander on the security situation and actions being taken by the formations against terrorists inside our own territory.
He was further informed about the Pakistan Army attempts to violate the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC), Army officials verified the above details. Further detailed reports in this regard awaited. Earlier today in a retaliatory action the Indian Army along with the local police houses of two terrorists were razed to the ground said reports on Friday.
