Bhubaneswar: Reliance Jio has emerged as the most preferred service provider in the 5G FWA home broadband segment in Odisha. Jio’s 5G FWA service Jio AirFiber has captured over 87% subscriber market share in the state in this segment. This is according to the latest telecom subscriber data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) this week. For the first time, TRAI has separately released the number of 5G FWA or AirFiber subscribers.
As per the data released by TRAI, Reliance Jio’s 5G FWA service Jio AirFiber is leading the market in the state with over 1.3 lakh AirFiber subscribers as on January 31, 2025, followed by Bharti Airtel with 18,000 subscribers. According to the data, the total number of 5G FWA or AirFiber subscribers in Odisha crossed 1.5 lakh by the end of January 2025.
At the national level, Jio has also dominated the 5G FWA or AirFiber segment, with Jio AirFiber capturing over 84% of the subscriber market share in the segment in the country. As per the data released by TRAI, as of January 31, 2025, Jio had over 4.8 lakh 5G FWA or AirFiber subscribers in the country, while Airtel had around 8 lakh 5G FWA subscribers in the country.
