Balasore : In a gory incident, some miscreants allegedly hacked a youth to death in Chandipur locality of Balasore district late last night.
As per reports, the miscreants attacked Satya Siba Das, a resident of the Sunhat area in the Mallikashpur locality of the district, with sharp-edged weapons while he was returning to his home.
As a result, he sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. Thereafter, the assailants abandoned his body on the roadside and fled the spot.
Later, some locals spotted Satya’s body lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police who then rushed to the spot and recovered the body. The body was then sent for post-mortem to a nearby hospital.
Though the exact motive of the culprits behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the murder might be a fallout of past enmity.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
