Bhubaneswar: World-class firefighter training simulators will be set up in Odisha, announced Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at the Firefighter trainees’ graduation ceremony.
The Chief Minister, while attending the 61st Firefighter Graduation Ceremony at the Baramunda Fire Training Center in Bhubaneswar, called the Odisha Fire Service the best in the country.
World-class firefighter training simulators will be set up in Odisha, the CM said. He also said that 300 vacant posts will be filled before December.
It is to be noted that as many as 911 new firefighter trainees have joined the fire service after passing out from the Baramunda Fire Training Center during the graduation ceremony today.
Last year, the Odisha Fire Service saved 7599 lives and rescued 17,000 animals. A world-class simulator worth Rs 10 crore will be installed for advanced training.
A national level water rescue and lifesaving centre will be opened in Ramchandi at a cost of Rs 12 crore. Along with this, a world class scuba diving training centre will also be set up in Ramchandi at a cost of Rs 10 crore, the Chief Minister said.
