Bhubaneswar, : A woman was allegedly gang-raped after she raised objection to loud birthday celebration in Mancheswar area of the capital city of Bhubaneswar.
The woman and her husband lodged a complaint with Mancheswar police on Monday following which the police arrested three persons. The accused persons have been identified as Malinga alias Debashis Pradhan (24), Deepak Kumar Sethy (24), and Sanu alias Swadhin Kumar Nayak (22).
The accused have confessed to their crime during questioning and have been forwarded to court.
As per reports, the incident took place on the evening of December 11 when Deepak had organized a party to celebrate his birthday where he along with some of his friends was screaming and making loud noise.
Fed up with it, the woman, as her husband was not present at the home, went to the spot and asked them to refrain from doing so. Enraged over this, the accused trio dragged her inside the house and raped her by taking turns.
On hearing her screams, some neighbors rushed to the spot and rescued the woman. The accused persons then fled the spot. Reportedly, the accused even threatened to kill the victim.
