Veteran Teacher Prabhas Chandra Panda Passes away

Bhubaneswar   Veteran Teacher Prabhas Chandra Panda Passes away,  Veteran teacher Prabhas Chandra Panda expired in a Private hospital at Bhubaneswar on 3rd January 2023. 92 years old Shri Panda was suffering from pneumonia. A popular school teacher, Shri Panda started his professional teaching career from his native village at Adalapanka in Bhadrak District. His father ,renowned freedom Fighter late Upendra Nath Panda was the first Editor of Odia Daily Prajatantra. Shri Panda retired from Service in 1988 as the assistant Headmaster of Steel High School in Sector- 2 at Rourkela. Shri Panda earned much name and fame as a meritorious teacher in Mathematics and Science . Many of his students have earned much laurels in different walks of life like IAS, Engineering and Medical Services. He has been awarded several times by Steel Authority of India limited for his outstanding teaching. His wife.two sons and daughter- in – laws were present near his bed, when the end came. Odisha cadre retired IAS officer Dr. Arun Panda and former Joint General Manager of SR Steel Dr. Kirankanti Panda were his two sons. The last rites of Shri Panda were performed at Swarga Dwar in Puri. His eldest son Dr Arun Panda gave the fire in the funeral pyre. Shri Panda’s demise evoked widespread shockwave among the general public of steel city Rourkela.
