Under-trial prisoner slits throat at Jharsuguda sub-jail

Jharsuguda, : An under-trial prisoner attempted suicide by slitting his throat with a blade at Jharsuguda sub-jail on Sunday.

He was first rushed to the district headquarters hospital from where he was shifted to VIMSAR at Burla.

The prisoner has been identified as Suraj Kar of OMP colony under Brajarajnagar area of the district. He was arrested from Brajarajnagar a few days back and sent to jail.

Police have started a probe into the matter.
