Deogarh, : Deogarh police has arrested six accused on the charges of trading a newborn delivered by a minor rape victim, on Saturday.
Besides the newborn has been recovered and housed in an adaptation centre.
Sources said a rape victim minor girl of the Barkote area delivered a boy child in Deogarh district headquarters hospital on October 27. She was discharged from the labor room on the 29th.
However, she returned back with single-handed as a couple identified as Basanta Munda and Anjali Munda purchased the boy for Rs 5000, on the way to her home.
Subsequently, the baby was handed over to a couple of Mayurbhanj namely Atala Bihari Bhol and Lalita Bhol through one Gunanidhi Sahu and his mother Godavari.
Being informed by the Anganwadi worker, District Child Protection Unit had filed a complaint with Barkote police.
Acting on it, Police arrested the six accused persons and recovered the baby from the traders.
