Bargarh : The election for the post of Sarpanch in Gobindapur gram panchayat of Bargarh district has been countermanded following the death of a contesting candidate.
The deceased has been identified as Balmiki Pradhan.
Pradhan died in a massive cardiac arrest on Wednesday. Following this, the election scheduled to be held for the post of Sarpanch in Gobindapur gram panchayat on February 24 has been countermanded.
However, polling for the other posts will continue as scheduled.
