Bhubaneswar, : A youth from Rourkela has climbed atop a hoarding at Sishu Bhavan Square screaming about his unfulfilled demands and threatening to set him on fire.
The youth has been identified as Muktikant Biswal, a social activist from Rourkela. Biswal who has walked all the way from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar has climbed atop the hoarding protesting the indifference of the state government towards his demands.
While the rescue team is continuously trying to bring him down, Biswal is holding a bottle containing inflammable liquid in his hand, screaming from the height and asking fire service personnel not to attempt a rescue.
“I have waited for the last seven days to meet our CM Naveen Patnaik over various projects in Rourkela, but could not meet him. I am completely demoralized and lost all hope, so I took this step. I request the rescue team to stay away from any operation to bring me down. I will definitely kill myself if my demands are not fulfilled ” said Biswal.
