Puri: The Puri Srimandir will remain closed for the general public for four hours on account of Khasapada Niti today.
Reportedly, the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) informed that the servitors will perform Khasapada Niti, the secret rituals, from 4pm to 8pm.
The secret ritual is conducted around two to three times a year.
Notably, the Srimandir will remain open for devotees on Sundays from March 20 in view of the significant decline in Covid-19 cases across the state.
The public darshan at the mandir will start at 6 am. However, the devotees will have to wear masks inside the temple following the Covid protocols.
The temple use to remain shut for devotees on Sundays for the sanitisation due to Covid -19 situation. The SJTA has informed that the sanitization will be done during the night and not by closing the temple.
