India on Saturday sealed another gold medal with Odisha’s Pramod Bhagat beating Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell in the Badminton Men’s Singles SL3 gold medal match.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated him for winning Gold medal in Badminton at the Paralympics Games in Tokyo.
“Pramod Bhagat has won the hearts of the entire nation. He is a Champion, whose success will motivate millions. He showed remarkable resilience & determination. Congratulations to him for winning the Gold in Badminton. Best wishes to him for his future endeavours. @PramodBhagat83,” said the PM.
“Your success has made the whole country proud. Wishing you a brighter future in the future,” CM Naveen said while congregating Pramod.
Pramod hails from Attabira in Odisha’s Bargarh district. He is one of six brothers and sisters. When he was five years old, he developed a defect on his left leg.
At the age of 13, he went to watch a badminton match and was fascinated with the game. For the next 2 years, he was deeply engulfed in the game with footwork, fitness, and fixture of the game. Pramod played his first tournament against normal category players when he was 15 years old. He was encouraged by spectators, which motivated him to move ahead in his badminton career.
