Bhubaneswar : The first phase of three tier Panchayat election begins across Odisha at 7am today amid tight security. Polling will continue till 1 pm.
The polls will be held in five phases on February 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24.
In the first phase, polling is taking place in 200 zilla parishad zones in 71 blocks, 1,669 panchayats and 22,379 wards. A total of 67.51 lakh voters are exercising their franchise in the polls.
Only voters whose names are present in the ward-wise voters’ list are to be allowed to cast their votes.
