New Covid guidelines: Schools to remain closed, night curfew from 9 pm

Bhubaneswar : Amid rising Covid cases in the State, Odisha government on Wednesday issued new Covid guidelines to be enforced in the State. The new guideline will come into force from 5 am of 7th January, 2022 till 5 amm of 1st February, 2022.

The Special Relief Commissioner issued the Covid guidelines.  As per the new guidelines night curfew will enforced from 9 pm in the night till 5 am in the morning in urban areas, informed the SRC Pradeep Jena. However, the essential services will be continued even during night curfew.

Similarly, the government has also curbed the number of participants in marriage ceremony. According to the new guidelines a maximum of 100 participants will be allowed to be present in marriage functions while only 30 people will be allowed in barat procession. They will have to follow all the Covid norms during the function. For funeral observations 50 people are allowed to participate, said the guidelines.

Cinema halls, theatres, multiplexes, in closed places shall be allowed to open with up to 50 percent of capacity and operate with due compliance to Covid protocols.

Also, the Summative Assessment for the Class X in the State that began today will be allowed to continue.

The online education by schools up to Class 12 to continue while the Schools in the State to remain shut for physical mode classes. However, doubt clear session can be carried out in small batches for students of X and XII.

The government offices will run with 50 percent staff, the new guideline said.

The SRC urged and directed the shop owners as well as customers to abide the Covid norms. Lest, legal action will be taken for violation.

Zoological Parks/ Nandankanan zoo, Botanical Garden shall be allowed to open with due compliance to Covid protocols. However online booking tickets for entry into zoo/ Botanical Garden are mandatory.

Picnic in public places including hotels, convention halls, parks, beaches and other tourist spots were restricted. Cultural events will not be allowed in hotels, clubs etc.

Educational institutions barred from organising excursions.

Exhibitions, Expo and Fairs will not be allowed.

Hotel, Restaurants, Bars and Dhabas to accommodate 50 percent of the full sitting capacity.

In public transports, conductors, passengers and others are asked to wear mask throughout the journey.
