Bhubaneswar, : Bike-borne miscreants have looted Rs1.83 lakh from a private distributor on Saturday.
The incident took place at Nirakarpur market in the afternoon.
The Nirakarpur police has initiated an investigation on the complaint of the victim.
Sources said that an employee of a private distributor agency dealing with ITC product was leaving for Bhubaneswar after collecting money from the retailers at Nirakarpur market, in order to deposit the amount in the bank. Meanwhile, two bike-borne miscreants chased him and decamped with the cash, threatening him at gunpoint.
Police have escalated checking and blocking operation to intercept the miscreants.
