Manas Swain murder case: Remand period of four accused to end today

Bhubaneswar, : The five-day remand of the four accused in the sensational Manas Swain murder case is ending today.

Reportedly, the accused, Sarmishtha Rout, Niranjan Sethi, Jhuna Bhoi, and Ranjan, will be produced before the Chandbali JMFC court where the Crime Branch is likely to seek a remand period again.

Earlier yesterday, the crime scene was recreated at three places including Palaspur of Chandbali, and Ranpur Badhipatana in Nayagarh. Also, Sarmistha Rout had confessed to having kidnapped and killed Manas.

Following this, the prime accused Sarmishta was brought to the crime branch office where she was interrogated face to face with Niranjan, Ranjan, and Jhuna.

The last day of interrogation has begun today where all the four accused will be interrogated face to face.

If reports are to be believed, it has been learnt that Niranjan Sethi has not been cooperating with the crime branch team in the investigation due to which the polygraph tests of the accused may be conducted if needed.
