Amaravati, : Tadepalli police arrested a man who allegedly got HIV-infected blood injected to his pregnant wife to find an excuse to divorce her in Andhra Pradesh.
The accused has been identified as M. Charan.
Sources said the victim during a health check-up at a hospital was shocked to know that she was HIV positive. Later she came to know that her husband injected HIV-infected blood into her with the help of a quack. She was told that the injection was to ensure good health during pregnancy.
The victim alleged that her husband had been harassing her for dowry and also insisting that she bear a male child as the couple has a daughter. Being informed, police started investigation into the matter.
