Kendrapara, : In yet another shameful incident, a man was forced to carry the body of his five-year-old daughter on a bike due to the unavailability of a hearse vehicle in the Kendrapara district.
As per reports, Baisali, the daughter of Sunakar Kandi of Charigan village Derabish police limits, was bitten by a venomous snake on Monday night following which she was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Kendrapara for immediate medical treatment.
Unfortunately, after preliminary treatment, the attending doctors pronounced her dead.
After the autopsy procedure, Sunakar did not get any ‘Mahaprayan’ vehicle to carry the body from the hospital to their home.
With the hearse vehicle remaining out of bounds for the family of the victim, Sunakar and his brother left out with no other option were forced to carry the body on a bike.
The whole incident came to light when some locals, suspecting some foul play after seeing the body wrapped in black polythene, intercepted them and enquired about it. Thereafter, Sunakar narrated the whole incident.
Sunakar said after the post-mortem the hospital staff asked him to take the body following which he was carrying the body on the bike.
On the other hand, the hospital administration could not be reached for comments on the incident.
