Bhubaneswar, : Police have arrested a fraudster from the capital city Bhubaneswar on charges of duping several job aspirants of Rs 21 lakh in the Mathili block of Malkangiri district.
The fraudster has been identified as Chinmay Mohapatra, a native of Genguti village in Balasore district.
As per reports, Chinmay has allegedly duped five persons including a woman to the tune of Rs 21 lakh on pretext of providing jobs in Food Corporation of India (FCI), Block Social Security Officer (BSSO), as police Sub-Inspector (SI), clerk and as teacher in Adarsha Vidyalaya.
Following complaints by the victims, police formed a special team to investigate the matter and arrested the fraudster from Bhubaneswar.
Police have also registered a case in this regard and forwarded him to the court.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
