Bhubaneswar, :The low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression on Saturday morning which will possibly bring intensive rain in the Odisha coast.
As per IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar, the system is likely to pass closer to the Odisha coast by the next 24 hours and intensify into a deep depression during the process.
The weathermen have issued yellow warning to as many as 11 districts of Odisha said, IMD DG, Mrityunjaya Mohapatra today.
The low pressure followed by the deep depression during the next 24 hours will cause heavy to very heavy rainfall, one or two district may witness extremely heavy rainfall due to it. Orange warning has been issued to Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir Apart from it, a few of these districts are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall till Monday.
Similarly, another low pressure is likely to be formed over the Bay of Bengal on September 18 which will cause heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in a few coastal districts of Odisha, said the weathercast issued by the IMD today.
