Bhubaneswar : Nayagarh labour officer has been nabbed by Odisha Vigilance for taking bribe.
The officer has been identified as Chitta Ranjan Rout.
As per reports, the officer has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance for accepting a bribe. A complaint was filed alleging that Rout demanded Rs 6,000 from 20 workers for processing their labour cards.
Acting on the complaint, vigilance officials caught Rout red-handed while accepting the bribe.
During the investigation, Odisha Vigilance found Rs 37,000 from his rented house in Nayagarh. The vigilance team has confirmed that all the seized money is bribe money. The vigilance is currently investigating the total extent of the government official’s illicit earnings.
