Rourkela : Rourkela police has arrested a top operative of Jharkhand-based People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) from Assam.
The accused identified as Arjun Rana alias Kapil Pathak was nabbed by a special team of police. Police have also seized a semi-automatic rifle, five rounds of live ammunition from Rana’s possession.
Police said Rana is one of the close associates of the PLFI supremo Dinesh Gope. “Rana used to make calls to the businessmen of Rourkela and Biramitrapur areas and demand money from them by threatening them. He was a member of a team that operated to fund the PLFI members in the district,” said an official.
