Nabarangpur, : Jeypore MLA, Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Papadahandi BDO faced off on Thursday over development works in the Papadahandi block in Nabarangpur district.
The incident took place before the Papadahandi block where the Block Congress workers were undertaking a dharna in the afternoon.
Sources said,the Congress activists had staged a dharna before the Papdahandi panchayat samiti office. Bahinipati reached the spot and addressed the public regarding various development programmes in the block. Meanwhile, he raised questions on gross corruption in the block and alleged the involvement of the BDO. However, the BDO, Ranjita Mallick who was passing by the spot at that time refuted Bahinipati’s allegation. Following this, an argument broke out at the dharna spot between the Legislator and the OAS officer for a long time.
Being informed, Nabarangpur ADM, Bhaskar Raita reached the spot and refrained the duos in order to pacify the matter. He also initiated an amicable settlement on which the BDO apologised for her hot response.
