Bargarh, : Bargarh police have seized a huge cache of banned cough syrup and arrested six accused in this connection on Sunday.
Sources said that a Bolero was carrying over 1440 bottles of S-Cough cough syrup and at least 18000 Nitrocen tablets to Bargarh town from Balangir in the evening. Police on specific tip-off intercepted the vehicle at the Char Bangala square and seized the illegal medicines. Subsequently, six peddlers namely Nibas Putel, Sunil Putel, Prasant Barik, Gunanidhi Sahu,Bitu Karei and Rakesh Nayak were taken into custody.
A case has been registered with the Barpali police. Further investigation is underway to nab the other accused, said police.
