New Delhi, : The BJP MPs on Friday held the state government responsible for the fiasco over permanent bench of Orissa High Court in western Odisha.
Addressing press meet here, five BJP MPs from Odisha alleged that the state government is responsible for violence during the protest on December 12 and the subsequent suspension of 43 layers’ licenses.
“This happened due to silence of Odisha government. It could have been prevented, had the government acted on time,” said MP Suresh Pujari.
“Many lawyers have been arrested. So they cannot help in the court works. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should intervene to restore normalcy,” Pujari said.
The BJP MPs have submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, seeking his intervention to bring back normalcy and stop the arrest of advocates.
“The Chief Minister is the Home Minister of the State and he should answer why the intelligence failed and why 17 platoon police forces deployed at the spot failed to tackle the situation, “he added.
