Sundergarh, : A girl was allegedly killed after being attacked with wooden plank and grinding stone by her mother in Kalamegha village under Hemagir police limits in Sundergarh district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Deepanjali Vohra.
As per the report, the victim was having a disturbed relationship with her mother for past couple of months. While Deepanjali had a love affair, her mother was objecting it.
On Sunday morning, a verbal duel erupted between the mother and the daughter over the same issue. As the argument escalated further, her mother attacked her daughter with a wooden plank and subsequently with a grinding stone inflicting grievous injury to the latter.
After finding Deepanjali dead following the attack, the accused consumed pesticides kept at home in a bid to kill herself and turned critical.
Some neighbours rushed her to Hemagir Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment immediately.
