Rourkela, : Fake notes worth Rs 16 lakh have been seized from Rourkela late on Saturday night. One SK Muhammad has been held in this connection.
Sources said that the Special Task Force(STF) of Odisha Crime Branch, acting on a tip-off, conducted a raid in the Sector-17 area in Rourkela township. During the raid, fake notes with denominations of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 worth Rs 16 lakh were recovered from a house where SK Muhammad, a Delhi-based man was accommodated.
A laptop, a printer, different colours, and other printing materials were also seized from SK’s house.
The accused has been taken into custody. Further investigation is underway to find out the whole network, said police.
