Bhubaneswar, .: The Founder National President of Kalinga Bharati and Akshaya Mitra Foundations, Engineer Akshaya Samal was presented prestigious Amruta Kalakar Award here. Based in Gurugram of Haryana, Er. Samal has been chosen for this coveted honour for his illustrious contributions in promoting and propagating the essence and excellence of Odisha as well as the elegance of Odia language, disclosed President Basant Kumar Das and Founder Secretary Rajkishore Gochhayat of Amruta Kalakar. The Distinguished Guests Secretary of Odisha Sangeet Natak Academy Dr Chandra Sekhar Hota ,Chairman, World Odisha Society Kishore Dwibedi, Renowned Publisher Banoj Tripathy and Noted Poet Dr Ashok Kumar Puhan conferred this honour on Er Samal during an unique Musical programme entitled, “Ama Mati, Ama Bhasha” hosted by Amruta Kalakar at Jayadev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.
Engineer Akshaya Samal has had the privilege of earning name and fame in National and International arena for his sterling services towards suffering humanity and noble initiatives for community development. Under Shri Samal’s active and able supervision Kalinga Bharati Foundation (KBF) has been engaged in popularizing Odisha’s art, crafts, culture, heritage, language, literature, architecture, culinary and attire in National Capital Region since last three decades. Founder of Kalinga Management Consultancy, Er Samal has been instrumental in providing permanent engagements to around 300 youths mainly belonging to his native place Mahanga in Odisha. Er Samal’s remarkable services during covid pandemic to save hundreds of precious lives from the clutches of death by providing timely medical care, have been widely appreciated by both Government and general public.Er. Samal has the rarest credit of organising International Jagannath Mahotsava in New Delhi with the participation of devotees from six countries and graced by Gajapati Maharaja Shree Dibyasingha Deba of Puri and Bharat Ratna Former President Pranab Mukherjee.
A highly qualified Production Engineer by profession, Er Samal had left his job after serving 23 years at various key positions in several top notch corporate houses, only to serve the people in his birth place. Being the Founder National President of Rastriya Pravasi Odia Paribar, Founder General Secretary of Utkal Jyoti Charitable Organisation and having close associations with around 21 Jagannath Temples Management Committees throughout India, Er Samal has had splendid contributions for the overall welfare of non resident Odias in national basis. Being the prime witness of a fatal accident in N.H.8, Er Samal had been instrumental in providing justice to the dead victim’s poor young widow in form of compensations after fighting the case in court for 8 years.
Er Samal has established Akshaya Mitra Foundation recently with an aim of concentrating on the all round development of Mahanga by involving his numerous followers and supporters. Er Samal has the rarest advantage of knowing intimately the ground realities of the area, current issues, local problems and possible solutions. Through Akshaya Mitra Foundation, Er Samal has the dream and planning to build up a New Mahanga, bringing revolutionary changes in the field of Agriculture, Industry, Education and Health Care and empowering youth, women and farmers of the locality to be self reliant.
