Elephant carcass found in Rairakhol, electrocution suspected

Rairakhol : Carcass of a tusker was found in a forest under Kisinda Khalasuni Sanctuary Range in Rairakhol in the district this morning.

Forest officials suspected that the pachyderm died of electrocution after coming in contact with a live electric wire. Locals spotted the body and immediately informed the forest officials.

Further investigation is continuing to ascertain the cause of death of the animal.
