Deogarh, : An elderly woman was charred to death at Lainda village in Deogarh district.
The deceased has yet to be identified.
The incident occured after her saree accidentally caught fire she was sitting around a bonfire in the village. Her family members were able to douse the flames but she had sustained severe burn injuries.
The woman was rushed to Tileibani health centre where she died while undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, police have initiated a probe into the matter.
