Balasore, : In the latest development to the DRDO espionage case, two members of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) have reached Balasore for further investigation.
Earlier in the day, a staff of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was arrested. Four Defence Research and Development Organisation contractual staffers were arrested in Odisha for allegedly passing defence secrets to “Pakistani” agents.
According to sources, one of the accused had a link with a woman. The woman reportedly lured the accused to leak secret information of DRDO to Pakistani agents.
Earlier, Ishwar Chandra Behera, a cameraman at Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Chandipur was arrested in February 2015 on an espionage case.
On February 11, 2021, Behera was sentenced to life imprisonment for spying for Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
