Bhubaneswar: In a shocking and shameful incident, a man allegedly raped a woman and her daughter allegedly after clicking their obscene photos in Badagada area of Bhubaneswar.
The accused person has been identified as Saroj Kumar Behera alias Rabi of Nipania village in Jajpur district. Currently, he is staying at Radhanagar in Ravi Talkies Chhak under Badagada Police Station limits.
The complainant claimed that Behera works as a domestic help in her house. While working there, the accused managed to click some obscene photos and videos of her and her minor daughter and kept them with him.
Gradually, Behera started blackmailing the mother-daughter by using their obscene photos and videos. Later, he raped them multiple times against their will by threatening to make those photos and videos viral. Besides, he sent the photos and videos to the complainant’s husband.
Apart from raping them, the accused also abused both of them in indecent language and issued various threats.
Finding no other option, the woman lodge a complaint against Saroj, based on which Badagada PS Case No.238, dtd.03.05.2025, U/S-77/64(2)(m)/65(1)/296(b)/351(2) BNS r.w Sec 6 POCSO Act/66-E IT Act was registered.
During investigation, police arrested Saroj, who also confessed to his crime. The police probe also revealed that he had already a case registered against him in Jajpur police station.
