Dhenkanal: Taking quick action in the case of a woman attempting self-immolation in the premises of the SP office in Dhenkanal of Odisha today, the Superintendent of Police suspended the two concerned Police Sub-Inspectors. And this was done within merely 4 hours of the attempt.
As per reports, Sub Inspector (DCO) of Town Police Station Utkal Bijay Mohanty and Sub Inspector (DCO) of Sadar Police Station Rosalin Minz were suspended. The SP suspended them for not registering the complaint lodged by the victim woman.
It is to be noted that a woman attempted self-immolation in the SP office premises of Dhenkanal in Odisha today. Alleging mental torture by a relative brother-in-law, she had approached the Town Police Station and Sadar Police Station several times but, feeling she did not receive justice, she allegedly attempted self-immolation in the SP office premises today.
According to the woman, after being mentally tortured by her brother-in-law (Diara), she approached the Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station and Town Police Station multiple times seeking justice. However, instead of receiving help, she was allegedly shuttled between the two stations without any action being taken, which left her frustrated and thus she today attempted self-immolation. However, the cops intervened promptly, restrained her, and rescued her from harming herself.
Following the incident, Dhenkanal SP had called the concerned police personnel of both the concerned Police Stations and investigating the matter. And now he took action and suspended the two officers for their inaction in the case of the victim woman.
