Bhubaneswar, : Amid the rise in Omicron cases in the state, the school reopening decision for class I to V students is likely to change, informed DMET chief Rama Raman Mohanty.
“Government had taken the decision to reopen schools as per prevailing situation then. Neither Odisha has reported any Omicron positive cases, nor there was an increase in daily infections. Cases are rising now. In this regard, the decision for reopening of the schools might change,” said Mohanty.
Notably, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Tuesday announced that physical classes would resume for students of class I to V from January 3, 2022. The physical classes for class VI to XII are currently going on across the state.
