Cuttack : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed grief over the crane collapse incident of Cuttack today. He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.
As per reports, the CM announced compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the next of kin of each of the deceased. He also ordered that all the injured be treated free of cost.
Further, the Chief Minister has ordered an investigation into the incident.
It is worth noting that three people died and two were seriously injured in the incident of a crane collapsing during the construction of a bridge on the Kathajodi River in Khan Nagar area on Saturday.
The crane collapsed while a huge concrete slab was being lifted. As a result, the slab fell on the workers and three of them died.
