Bhubaneswar: In today’s development regarding the fraud lady accountant of Bhubaneswar’s Private Engineering College, her boyfriend has been brought to capital city from Jharkhand on transit remand by Commissionerate Police.
The accused boyfriend has been identified as Bikash.
Reportedly, Tamando police will interrogate him in connection with Rs 97 lakh that was transferred to him by the lady accountant of Private engineering college in Bhubaneswar.
A team of four police official arrived in Ranchi on Saturday, and also to Hazaribagh but were unable nab the accused boyfriend in both the locations.
Eventually, the police apprehended him and appealed for a five days remand period at Hazaribagh court. However, he was allowed a three-days remand.
It also been learnt that there are two others involved in this fraud case.
Notably, a lady accountant, identified as Payal Mohapatra, of a private engineering college was arrested for transferring Rs 97 lakh to her boyfriend.
The lady accountant of the engineering college had transferred Rs 97 lakh, which were collected from the students as admission and tuition fees, to her Bihar-based based boyfriend.
The matter came to light while the audit report of the private engineering college was being prepared, following which the authorities of the institute filed a police complaint at Tomando Police Station.
During the investigation, Police came to know that the accountant had transferred the money to her boyfriend, who was the alumni of the same college. She had transferred the money in a span of one year.
