Angul, : Asha Kumari Sahu has been elected as the Chairman of the Notified Area Council(NAC), Athmallik on Saturday.
It has been revealed after the State Election Commission(SEC) declared it in the afternoon.
According to the particulars of the SEC, Asha Kumari who contested as a BJD candidate defeated a Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) candidate with a good margin. At the same time, the BJD candidates have got the thumping victory in as many as 9 wards of the NAC leaving only one for the BJD. However, no congress candidate has won the election this year in the NAC that comprises 10 wards.
