Balangir : A group of miscreants barged into the house of a man on Tuesday night and kidnapped him in Gopabandhu Nagar area Balangir district allegedly over a past enmity with his son.
The victim has been identified as Siba Prasad Behera. Behera alleged that around 15-20 armed miscreants forcibly entered into his house yesterday night and kidnapped him.
“They damaged the furniture and vehicle and then covered my face with a black cloth and picked me up from my house in an auto-rickshaw. Later after two-three hours, they dropped me near RTO Chhak at around 11 pm from where I walked back home,” said Siba Prasad Behera .
Meanwhile, Behera’s son Bimal Kumar Behera, who was not present at the house during the incident, has alleged that the men were from Bibhutipada area of Balangir town.
“My son had a fight with some people two days back. However, I am not aware about that incident . It is possible that the attack may be due to that fight only,” added Behera.
Behera lodged a complaint in the nearby police station regarding the matter. The Balangir police rushed to the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
