Bhawanipatna, : Saravana Vivek M, a 2015 batch IPS officer who was Kalahandi SP, has never imagined the kind of farewell given by the locals and his colleagues on his last day.
The IPS officer was recently appointed as SP of Berhampur. Locals and his colleagues lifted him on their shoulders and moved him around the town during his farewell ceremony. They also took out a motorcycle rally before wishing him luck for his new assignment.
The IPS officer had taken charge as Kalahandi SP in January last year. However, he became very popular among the locals and his colleagues for his teamwork and strict approach toward criminals.
Similarly, during his tenure as Rayagada SP, Vivek had also carried an accident victim in his vehicle to the hospital. The MBBS graduate, who is an alumnus of the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute, Puducherry, was inspired to join the civil services when he became a member of the administrative committee in his college.
