Bhubaneswar: A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Badagada Brit Colony of Odisha’s Capital City, Bhubaneswar, on Thursday afternoon.
As informed by sources, the body of the youth, who is identified as Subham Panda aka Guddu of Kuakhia village in Jajpur district, was found hanging inside a house in Badagada Brit Colony. However, under what circumstances, he died is yet to be ascertained. He has opened a shop in Bhubaneswar and was living in a rented house.
Meanwhile, two young girls are under suspicion. In the footages of the CCTV cameras installed in the lane where Subham’s house is situated, the girls can be seen leaving the locality at a high speed. They used a scooty, with registration No OD 02C Y0624, to flee from the crime scene.
It is alleged that the girls were in Subham’s house for some unknown reasons and took away his mobile phone with them when they left the house while his body was found hanging mysteriously.
A tension prevailed in the area after a huge number of local residents gathered on the spot in protest against the mysterious death of Subham. From the given circumstances, they alleged the roles of the girls behind his mysterious death and sought action against them.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Ward No- 57 Corporator Santosh Kumar Singh also arrived and the crime scene and took stock of the situation.
On being informed, a team of cops from the Badagada Police station arrived at the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. However, they are yet to ascertain whether Subham committed suicide for some unknown reason or he has been murdered.
Apart from sizing and sending Subham’s body to the Capital Hospital for post-mortem, police have also launched a search operation to trace and nab the girls who were seen in the CCTV footages and left the area under suspicious circumstances.
