Body of girl recovered from dam in Rayagada, was missing since 2 days

Rayagada: In a tragic incident, a girl who was missing since two days was found dead in a dam in Rayagada district of Odisha on Monday, said reports.

According to reliable reports, the body of the girl was found floating in the Burgi Dam under Bhisamcuttak police station jurisdiction. The girl had reportedly gone missing since two days from Badakachapai village.

The locals spotted the body and immediately informed the police. The body was recovered later and identified to be that of the missing girl. The police have launched an investigation in this regard.

Recently in the month of June, playing near the pond turned tragic for two minor sisters as they died reportedly after drowning in the pond at Krushnapur village in Bhadrak district of Odisha. The two siblings the daughters of Ratan Mandal of Karanapali village had reportedly gone to his father-in-law’s house at Krushnapur village on a visit.

The children were playing near the pond, which is situated close to their uncle’s house at Krushnapur village. However, accidentally they fell in the pond and drowned. After not finding the girls, the family members launched a frantic search for them. They reached all possible locations to trace them, but in vain.

Later, some villagers noticed the body of the children floating in the pond and informed the family members. Soon, they rescued the minor siblings in a critical condition and rushed them to Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC). But the doctor declared both of them dead on arrival.
