Keonjhar : Journalists will get construction worker cards. This was said by Forest Environment and Labour Minister Ganesh Ramsingh Khuntia in Keonjhar. While 100 professions including construction workers are included in this, the minister said that journalists and newspaper hawkers can also apply for this card. Journalists and newspaper hawkers have been advised to get this card from the Labour Department and take advantage of the government’s scheme, Minister Ganesh Ramsingh Khuntia said. The minister said this while participating as the chief guest at the district-level National Panchayati Raj Day in Keonjhar. He said that the families of these card holders will get compensation of Rs 3 lakh in case of natural death and Rs 6 lakh in case of accidental death. While there were 3.5 crore people to be included in this card, now only 50 lakh beneficiaries have been included in it. The minister said that the aim is to include all 3.5 crore beneficiaries in this scheme in the coming days.
