Heat wave to continue in Odisha till April 28, yellow warning issued for 11 districts

Bhubaneswar: No respite from heat wave till April 28 in Odisha. Humidity and heat wave condition have disrupted normal life. Situation in western Odisha is even worse.

Orange warning has been issued for 2 districts Balangir and Sambalpur for heat wave today and Sambalpur and Balangir for hot nights.

Similarly, yellow warning has been issued for 6 districts for heat wave and 11 districts for heat and humidity. There is no possibility of any significant change in temperature for the next 2 to 3 days. On April 27, light to moderate rain is likely in some districts due to the influence of Nor’wester.

On Saturday, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Balangir, Boudh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Deogarh, Angul, Nuapada, Kalahandi will continue to experience heatwave. Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal are expected to experience heat and humidity.

The heat wave will subside from 27th as the state is likely to received Norwester backed rain. Thunderstorms, wind and rain are possible in widespread areas on 27th and 28th April. According to the extended forecast of the Meteorological Department, Kalbaisakhi rain is likely to occur in East India between 26th and 29th.
