Koraput, : In a joint operation, police and excise officials have destroyed ganja cultivation spread across 47 acres of land in Machkund locality of Koraput district.
Acting on a tip-off, police along with excise and forest officials conducted raids near Godihanjar, Badakichob and Kantagram villages under Machkund police limits and destroyed ganja cultivation spread across 47 acres of forest land.
The officials uprooted 56,400 plants and set them ablaze.
The District Voluntary Force (DVF) and executive magistrate were also present during the operation.
Worth mentioning, police along with excise officials have launched ‘Operation Green Clean’ aiming to curb the smuggling of ganja in the state.
