Puri, : Police have seized 255 grams of brown sugar in Pipili area of Puri district on Saturday and arrested one person in this connection.
The accused has been identified as Jagabandhu Bai, a resident of Bhabanipur.
Acting on a tip-off regarding the smuggling of brown sugar in Pipili area, police conducted a raid at the specified place and nabbed the peddler.
Police have seized 255 grams of brown sugar and Rs 5000 cash from the possession of the accused.
The estimated worth of the seized contrabrand is over Rs 25 lakh.
Further investigation is on to ascertain other details, said a police official.
