Aadyasha News Desk : 24 Maoists surrendered in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. A reward of Rs 28 lakh was announced on 14 of them. Since April 21, a search operation has been launched in Bijapur, on the Telangana border, and reports of Maoist surrenders are coming in continuously.
According to Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Yadav, the surrendered Maoists are upset with the inhumane Maoist ideology and the unjustified atrocities on the local tribals. They have been influenced by the ‘Bhal Gaon’ campaign started by the government. The surrendered Maoists were associated with the East Bastar Sambhag, Partapur Area Committee and West Bastar Sambhag organizations.
