New Delhi  : Prime Minister Narendra Modi cut short his two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia, at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and flew back to India as news emerged of a devastating terror strike in Kashmir’s Pahalgam that took the lives of at least 26 people. After landing in New Delhi, Modi summoned an emergency meeting with senior officials, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, to brief them on the situation. The meeting was held at the Palam Airport. Modi had skipped the official dinner hosted by Saudi Arabia and decided to return to India early.
