Bhubaneswar : In a significant bureaucratic development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of Satyabrata Sahu, a 1991-batch IAS officer and the current Additional Chief Secretary (Home) of Odisha, for a Secretary-equivalent post at the Centre.
The announcement, made on April 21, 2025, also includes two other senior IAS officers—Shridhar Mishra (1991 batch) and Keshav Kumar Pathak (1990 batch)—marking a notable reshuffle in India’s top administrative ranks. This move signals a potential transition for Sahu, who has been a key figure in Odisha’s governance, to a pivotal role in the Union Government.
Sahu, who assumed the role of Additional Chief Secretary (Home) in August 2024, has been instrumental in overseeing Odisha’s home affairs while also holding additional charge of the Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Department. His empanelment for a central deputation underscores his extensive experience and the trust placed in him by the central government to handle high-level responsibilities.
The other two officers empanelled alongside Sahu bring their own wealth of experience. Shridhar Mishra, also from the 1991 batch, has been approved to hold a Secretary-equivalent post, while Keshav Kumar Pathak, a 1990-batch officer, has been empanelled for a full Secretary position at the Centre.
For Sahu, this empanelment marks a new chapter in a distinguished career. A 1991-batch officer of the Odisha cadre, he has held various significant positions in the state, earning a reputation for his administrative acumen and leadership.
